Re: wheels

Congrats! Wheels are 15 in dia x 4.5 in wide, bolt pattern is 5 on 4.5 in circle. Original tire size was 6.70 x 15 bias ply with tube, exact size/profile replacement tires are still made, though they're a specialty item. (The closest equivalent radial is probably 205 - 75 - 15, which is designed for...

Re: Dual Chamber Fuel Pump Plumbing of Vac for Wipers

Re: windshield replacement

Hi Gerry, I'm looking at the shop manual which has two different methods depending on year -- 51-52, or 46-50. I'll be glad to summarize how to do it -- would you let me know the year you have?

Re: Dull/Slow Turn Signals

...I'm going to rule out battery terminals for the moment, as it seems that low voltage from battery terminals would also affect other lighting systems in the car, as opposed to just the turn signals... Yep, if the battery terminals are free of obvious corrosion and snug, they're probably just fine...

Re: Dull/Slow Turn Signals

hmmm... that is a bit puzzling your observation about the engine speed suggests that the basic problem is low voltage -- maybe the battery or terminal connections are a bit suspect? it would be good to rule this out for starters of course since you're eliminated the possibility of a bad ground with ...

Re: Pulling my rear drums

If you haven't already, take a look at the info in the post toward the bottom of this section. NAPA or Sears should have drum pullers for sale. The Sears sells for a little over a hundred bucks, which is a lot for a tool you won't use often. Renting one would probably be reasonable if you have a ren...

Re: Mickey Mantle's 49 Ply Convert

The slugger's blue convert was featured in a Hemmings article when it was offered at auction with the life-sized cardboard standup of Mickey for a mere $75,000 in 2005.
