Yes, the oil pump CAN be installed incorrectly. As you may know, the oil pump is driven off the cam shaft. The oil pump shaft fits into the distributor shaft. Kind of doubt it. Not with out a whole bunch of work. However, there are "Mopar" OD trannys available from the '50's that bolt right up to the flat 6 with no modification whatsoever. I just put one in this winter. They aren't cheap, but higher gas mileage and lower RPM's are the payback.

The part numbers you are asking for is quite intensive. There is a page on this site that provides the category numers in order to look up the part numbers, if you have a parts book. A parts book is essential if you want to obtain the proper pars for your plymouth. Here is the link from this website...

Look for binding linkage in the mechenism. Pivot points, etc. Even though the pump may have the proper level of fluid, the pump may not be pumping the proper pressure to activate the cylinders.
