For the 1949 first series ... the last P15 model and for the P17 and P18 1949 2nd series the only transmission available that I know of was the Mopar Standard 3-speed .... in my parts list its listed as "Transmission Assembly - Less Shifter Housing Assembly" .... Mopar part number 1137332 for the P17 and 1137333 for the P18. The gasket package was Mopar part number 1063655 for both the P17 and P18. Overdrive 3 speeds came later and the Fluid-Drives were not available in the 1949 Plymouth models. Dodge and Chrysler had the Fluid-Drives.

I'd check with Kanter, or Andy Bernbaum, or Neil Riddle, or Roberts Motors, or Mitchell Motors for the gaskets ..... I'd first check locally at NAPA and Autozone to see if they have them listed. J.C. Whitney might be a good bet OR you can cut your own ... at least some of them .... using the old one as a template.

Differences ..... I don't know of any differences between the P17 and P18 transmissions made for the 2nd series 1949 Plymouths. Now, if you are trying to swap transmissions from other years .... yes, there are difference in some of them.
