Lowered expectations

Post by p18plywood » Sun Feb 22nd, 2009 4:55

Between the high winter expenses and the sagging economy, I have had to lower my expectations regarding the scope of the work on the wagon if I ever expect to get it finished. I was hoping to rebuild or replace all the major component systems in the car. Now for example I'll take the engine that was running very well, clean, paint, add new gaskets, some small parts and a new clutch, and the rest is in God's hands. Here are some pics recent work on the trans, clutch and bellhousing.

I'm obsessive about keeping fasteners attached to the parts, otherwise you have a random bucket of nuts and bolts

This is my low tech cleaning system, wash with gas in the yard and final wash with Marine Clean in the sink downstairs.

Reality is such a humbling concept isn't it ... me too. And, I'm not getting as far as you are Gerry. Nice photos and nice cleanup on the bellhousing. Those new screens look really great.

We just need to keep plugging along. If nothing else the old Plymouths may help keep us sane during some of these crazy times!!

Gerry .... do you recall exactly what those little vents were? Which hardward store? Stuff like that?
