where does the horn button wire go?

Post by Bill » Thu Oct 18th, 2012 12:12

Hi; I'm new to this forum, just got a 49 Special Delux P15. I'm working on the wiring, most needs replacing and can't figure out where the horn button/ring, wire is supposed to come out of the steering column. I'll pull the horn ring off and run a new wire but where does it come out?
Thanks.. Bill :?

On my 1949 P-18, the steering column has a tunnel that runs from the horn button all the way through past the steering box. When running the wire through from the horn button end, it should come out just beyond the steering box. From that point I believe it connects to the horn relay. Check your schematic for the connection point.
Good luck.
